A: Expose a perspective that’s rarely seen on camera, one that shocks but also gives hope.
When you’re positioning a brand/product, there’s a continuous cycle of looking for key strategies and insights that will help to process that follows. With GOD BLESS YOU: The movie, it was an exciting and fulfilling process. We assisted with the script writing, casting, production and promotion of this film. It helped position Play Lotto studios as a force in the independent film industry. It went on to win film festival awards and gained over 4 million views online.
BRINGING THE VISION TO LIFE
The symbolism we developed, emphasized the dark undertone of the entire film. The tragedy and issues confronted in the script were vicious, but beautiful in that they were finally being confronted head on. This film served as a symbolic weight lifted off of the shoulders of many that could directly relate. We film in South side Jamaica Queens, NYC to give it an authentic inner-city neighborhood feel. We opted to film in a minimalistic style and have a dialogue driven presentation. The message was that important. The repetition of the phrase “God Bless you” was very intentional in the film. It shows that while everyone was looking for or recognizing a “blessing” they were in no way identical. We did a full digital marketing and social media advertising run, a series of film festivals followed (Winner of the HIP HOP FILM FESITVAL: Best screenplay). 4 million views later. Mission accomplished.
